KarenWatts-Purple Passion
While in Winston-Salem, NC for my father-in-law’s funeral we visited Reynolda Gardens in Wake Forest University. What a beautiful, peaceful place, and I had my pick of many purple flowers. These are orchids in one of the hothouses.
I did do some manipulation, “just because I could”. First I increased the vibrance, then duplicated the layer and used the soft light blend mode. I extracted the flowers and put them on a separate layer, then did a Gaussian blur so the background would be blurred but not the flowers. Increased the canvas size and used a texture under the photo, gave it a drop shadow and a stroke border.
Shot with my Iphone.

on August 5, 2019I am so sorry for your loss.
This is quite beautiful. I like the purple frame. It has a gentle calm feeling.

on August 3, 2019Sorry for your loss. We have been to the Reynolda House to see the Georgia O'Keefe exhibit but it was pouring rain so didn't get to see the gardens. Nice framing for the orchids.
