This weeks was a quilt retreat week which means piles of colorful fabric all around me. I did what many did by zooming or panning or zoom-panning and my subject was a pile of fabric. I really wasn’t satisfied - perhaps because I’ve done that before. Also like many of you, it’s winter and drab outside. So in looking at my images, I decided to first do a mirror image by expanding the canvas in PS and copying and flipping the original. The original had a 1/4 white area so I cropped that off. Then, I mirrored that top half to the bottom and made sure the image was square. That however did not create this image. I took that square, duplicated it, then rotated it 90˚ and used the blending mode multiply. Flattened. Saved - and back in Lightroom made the adjustments necessary to bring it back to light and the colors I wanted. So… some of that was new to me.
